HUCKSTEP ATELIER

BRITISH QUILT DESIGN HOUSE

Huckstep Atelier is a British design house working in quilt patterns.

Each pattern is released as part of a seasonal collection - researched, written and edited with the rigour of a garment going to atelier.

Huckstep Atelier patterns

We do not make patterns quickly. We make them properly.

If you have bought quilt patterns before, you will notice the difference on the first page. A Huckstep Atelier pattern is built like a publication, designed to be read, enjoyed and treasured, as well as followed.

Inside: the Source Notes behind the design, because a quilt should know where it comes from. Named colourways, developed like a collection rather than swatched as an afterthought. Underneath it all, mathematics, checked from first principles - every yardage, every cut, every seam accounted for before a pattern is permitted to leave the design house.

The result is a pattern you keep on the shelf beside your books, not folded into a drawer

The picture shows a corner of an Victorian British home, pink peonies on a widow sill. A geometric quilt hangs on a brass rail on the wall in light pink, grass green, sky blue and violet with a white ground colour. A metal toy ride-on horse beneath.

DEUCE

A British summer, held in cloth.

Inspired by deckchair stripes, the hush before a serve on a grass court, and the colours born from having strength in your convictions.

DEUCE is a five-fabric quilt design, with an innovative construction utilising a block and sashing relationship that gives the illusion of an on point quilt block.
